KaKa and WaWa

This blog is created for Erica and Eva. They are a great joy to daddy and mummy, and hopefully their growing up can be captured here as each day passes by too quickly. Every moment with them is a memorable one, although at times they can drive daddy and mummy crazy. On reminisce, everything is worth it as they bring immeasurable happy times to those around them.

A Happy Day

07.07.07 was an auspicious day.

It was also the wedding day of our 叔叔 Jeffrey and auntie Jacqueline.

This is a photo blog of their big day, peppered with some of mine and my mei-mei's candid shots.

************

The day began bright and early for all of us.
Traditionally, a chinese customary wedding will have a tea ceremony which takes place in the day and a wedding banquet at night.

Hair-combing ceremony

Band of brothers waiting to set off to fetch the bride

Let's have some breakfast before the day activities begin..

Waiting.. waiting.. for the bride and groom to arrive... And more food...

At last! The fabulous couple!

Me serving tea to the couple... Got ang-bao to collect one you know. Heheh.

A family protrait.

Mei-mei posing for the camera.
PS: This picture and some of the (nicer) pictures following were taken by 叔叔's friend (not mummy).

Me and mei-mei again

After the day activities, we had a quick afternoon nap. Then it was off to Rasa Sentosa Resort for the wedding banquet.

姑姑 helping mei-mei get ready.

"Wow... see my high heels shoes!"

"Mei-mei... Come and see what's inside..."

"I also want!"

"Mummy says children cannot wear jewellery ok.. Keep them away quickly."

All ready to be the flower girls.

With other flower girls - Germaine and Gywneth jie-jies (both in black).
Mei-mei was throwing 'I don't want to take pictures' tantrums at this moment.

Long wait for the bride and groom... legs tired liao.. Sit on the floor to rest. I guess we waited more than 1 hour for the march-in to start.. Mummy thought it was a minor miracle that both of us behaved fairly well.

Still waiting for bride and groom, with the sword party.

The Wedding March with Eva mei-mei leading the pack... Err.. wait wait wait.. not really.. The sword people march in first.
Mei-mei did not scatter a single petal from her basket. Hahaha.. She was overwhelmed by the crowd, the sword party and the poppers.

A pretty picture.

Me and mei-mei taking the stage.

Our Family :)... This is 1 of the very few pictures taken of 4 of us that night. It was towards the end of the night. Around 12-midnight liao.. And you can see all of us were tired. Especially mei-mei.

Finale! Group photo with cousins.

Here's wishing 叔叔 and 婶婶 a blessed and blissful marriage!
May we have a little cousin to join us soon :).

My hobby and some pictures

Colouring is currently one of my favourite activity since I started school.

I like to do my colouring neatly and I will take my time to finish my work.

I show you 1 of my work here ok?

TATA!

Nice or not?? Even my teacher says my colouring work is neat hor...

I take my colouring seriously one, don't play play *wink*.

Some other random photos...

My cute mei-mei - Eva.

Mei-mei 2 years-old birthday.

My ah-yees - shu hua and shu fen birthday dinner.

Princess Erica!

These pictures are not very good coz they were all taken using my mummy's ipaq, which is quite a lau-ya camera cum pda phone.

Our digi camera don't know why spoilt liao. And for some lazy reasons, no one had sent it for repair??!!

You think lah, even my mei-mei's birthday pictures were all taken using handphone camera. They are not so nice, so shall not upload here. Very pai-seh to show people.

Sigh.. My lazy folks...

That said. My mummy had since bought a new digi cam. So we should be having more of our pictures taken to make up for lost times.

Stay tuned!

My 1st week in School

Hi..i..i Everyone... (in a super sian voice)...

It had been almost 2 weeks since I started school in the kindergarten.
I am now attending nursery class meant for 4-years-olds. However, as you know, I was borned on the very last day of the year, so I lugi in this aspect as everyone in class will be older than I am. It will be another year before I actually turn 4YO.

I am proud to say that the 1st week in school was a breeze, I did not cry at all...
This week (2nd week) is not so good, I cried buckets whenever Mummy and/or Daddy dropped me off in class... It's very sad you know... To spend 3 hours in school without the comfort of Mummy or Daddy, and having to face the formidable person in class whom we address as 'teacher' (eyes red red and ready to cry).
*Sniff sniff* My Mummy says that I have to be brave and not cry, otherwise I won't be able to learn new things nor enjoy playing with my classmates... Let's hope I will settle down soon and start to enjoy my school.

My 1st day of school. Waiting for my Daddy's car to bring us all to school.

Noticed that I am not wearing proper white school shoes? That's becoz my sotong folks forgot to buy school shoes for me... *sigh*

Don't worry. I have white shoes now. Although I don't really like them as they are not my favourite colour - pink.

At school dismissal... Waiting for the school bus auntie to bring us to the school bus.

Noticed that most of my classmates are taller and bigger than I am?

It's ok... I am the cutest!... heheh.

A beautiful rainbow appear across the sky on 1st Jan 2007 afternoon, while we were in the car on the way to dinner. This must be the 1st rainbow me and mei-mei see...

A rainbow! There is hope for the new year!

Birthday & Christmas

A Happy and blessed new year to everyone!

As in past years, we celebrated my birthday and Christmas together on Christmas eve.
So nice right?? Don't happy so fast... because people usually give me 1 present only hor (including my mummy and daddy ok)! And then somemore hor, my mei-mei also got presents at Christmas! But her birthday, she will get birthday presents, but I don't have!! *thump my chest* Gek sim siah... Nair mind... I am the elder sister, I shall be gracious.. heheh.

Here are my birthday and christmas celebration pictures:

Food Glorious Food!
The yummy food prepared by everyone who came.

With my ah-yees - Aunties Felicia, Angela, Pam

My mummy ordered this strawberry shortcake cake specially for me at Cakeavenue.
Strawberry shortcake is currently my favourite! Also, my other current favourites are all things related to the Princess theme and of course, Little Einstein!

I'm so happy with my cake!

Mei-mei and me admiring my birthday cake.
I think mei-mei was in awe with my cake. heheh...

For the album...
Pictures with our grandparents...

Our Christmas (cum birthday) presents!
Elmo on the first row is mei-mei's present, it's a robotic Elmo, it can roll on floor and laugh... very funny toy.
The blue robot (far right) behind robot elmo is my present.. Very chim toy... I think I can only play it in another 5 years time...

My favourite present!
It's a mini version of the arcade game whereby you use the claw to 'giap' the items at the bottom...of course, a bit chim for me liao.... But it's ok, I'll ask someone to play it with me... heheh...

With cousins...

A happy me on Christmas Day!

Mummy's thoughts:

Watching Erica blew out the candle on her birthday cake, it amazes me how time had flew past and how big she is now. It seems only like yesterday that I was carrying her in my arms for the first time. And now, she is 3-years-old.

Time is like a thief in the night who had sneaked away with all the moments that I can spend with her. When Erica was still inside me, being my first child, I had many hopes and ambitions for her. I wished she could me everything that I am not, and achieved all the things I had wanted to but never had the opportunity to do so. All these hopes vanished into the thin air the moment she was borned. Now, I only wished for my girl to be happy and healthy. Whatever she grew up to be will be good as long as she remained true to herself. This, I suppose will be every mummies and daddies hope for their child.

I watched my girl grew from a fragile little baby to a little girl who can now hold a conversation with me. Every milestone she achieved is a gratifying moment for me. Soon, she will grow up and have her own friends, boyfriends and her own life. Till the time comes, I pray we will have a smashing time experiencing and enjoying the process together.

My girl watches me put on my high heels to go to work every morning. She likes to try walking on them. I think the high heels to her are a symbol of being a grown-up. Part of me wants her to grow up faster so that I can relax, part of me wants her to remain always the innocent and happy child. I remind Erica everytime she attempt to get into my high heels - "Kaka, you cannot wear ok? Next time you big girl then you can wear".

After repeated reminders, she understands that now. Now, she will say "Mummy, kaka big girl already then I wear high high shoes ok?"

Indeed you will, my girl. But don't run too far away in them ok?

Garden on a Sunday

We go to the Botanic Gardens often, especially on Sunday mornings.

Well... not much choices for our good old daddy and mommy with 2 of us in tow.
Mei-mei wakes up bright and early everyday. Yes... including sundays. That is, before 7am everyday, she will be up and ready to 打老虎 (just a phrase meaning she will be wide awake and raring to go).

So, whenever we are up early on weekends, and when the weather is good, we will go take a stroll at the Gardens.

We rarely take pictures while we are at the Garden. Coz when we are younger (not like we are very old now.. heheh).. There are alot of barang barang to carry everywhere we go. It's difficult to take pictures when our folks' hands are full - bags, strollers, babies, etc...

Today, we went to the garden again.

Somehow, today the Eco lake (or is it pond? or swamp?) was not crowded.. And we got up close and personal with the black swan.

Daddy carry me to take a close look at swan.

Trying to take a picture with swan. But I'm kia-si... Will keep looking back to make sure someone is with me.

Mei-mei wanting to catch a closer look too.\
